IMPORTANT NOTICE
Dear Students and Parents;
Recital tickets go on sale Monday, May 11th. Due to the number of seats in the
auditorium, initially we must limit the amount of tickets that a student and or
family, (if siblings are in the same show or both shows) can purchase 6 tickets
for each show or 6 combo tickets that will gain entrance into both shows. The
auditorium seats 750 and there are no other facilities in the immediate area
that seat more than that. We do realize that some students and families need
more than 6 tickets, and we will try to accommodate everyone’s needs, but we do
want to make sure that all immediate family members have the opportunity to
purchase tickets first. A wait list will be established for students and
families that need more than 6 tickets each. The wait list will be based on a
first come, first serve basis. Advance tickets will only be sold until Saturday,
June 6th and any tickets not purchased by that day will be made available to
those on the wait list and also the general public. Last year both shows did
sell out and we do have 20 more students this year in each show. Unfortunately
we do not have enough students to have a third show, but this may be something
that will happen in the future. Unlike other studios that do not allow the
children to sit in the audience to enjoy the show with their families, we still
do. We feel that this is an important privilege for the children to enjoy the
art of dance, but this also presents a problem that fewer tickets can be sold to
regular audience members because seats are taken by students. We also ask that
children under the age of 3 yrs sit on a parents lap and also students that are
in 3 or more routines ages 8+, stay backstage to allow more seats. We are sorry
if this causes an inconvenience, but we will do our best to accommodate everyone
needs. If you have family or friends that only want to purchase tickets at the
door the day of recital, please inquire at the front desk during the week of
June 15th for ticket availability. Please be aware that these tickets may be
standing room only!!!
If you do not want to stay for the medal presentation at the end of each show,
you may pick up your medal at the pro-shop in the lobby of the auditorium the
day of the performance.

Miss Tanya’s School of Dance May, 2009
Dear Students & Parents;
It’s hard to believe that the annual Dance Recital “Viva Las Vegas” is right
around the corner. All students have been working very hard on their routines
and costumes are arriving daily.
Costumes will be given to the students during the week of May 4th with the
exception of size exchange costumes. All costumes balances must be Paid In Full
to receive your costume. We ask that all parents or legal guardians be present
at the beginning of each class that your child/children are in. Students will
try on the costumes in the beginning of each class. Instructors will explain
what is required for each class, such as alterations, color of tights, socks,
shoes, make-up and hair styles. Class attendance is very important, as new steps
are added to the routines each week. Presentation gifts will be available at the
studio and also on the day of the recital. This year we are offering lollipop
bouquets and Miss Tanya’s tote bags for that special dancer.
Please mark these important dates on your calendars:
Monday, May 4th2009 - May newsletter will be handed out and also the Dress
Rehearsal and Recital Show Schedules, Photo and Video order forms will be handed
out at a later date.
Monday, May 4th 2009 - Summer Class and Workshop registration begins.
Monday, May 11th 20098 - Recital Tickets Go On Sale. All seating is General
Admission. When purchasing recital tickets make sure that you know which show
your child/children are in, as some song titles are in both shows. Look at the
schedule for the day, time and instructor to purchase the correct tickets.
Tickets are good for both performances. Let us know if you are planning on
attending both shows, as you will need a special combo ticket for both shows to
gain entrance into the auditorium. Last year both shows were SOLD OUT!!! So
purchase your tickets early, as there may be no tickets available at the door
the day of the show!! The doors to the auditorium will open 35 minutes prior to
the start of the Recital. There are 2 different shows. The first performance is
at 1:00pm and the second performance is at 5:30pm. There will be a 15 minute
intermission at each show where refreshments and recital presentation gifts will
be sold. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults: $12.00 in advance, $15.00 at the
door. Children: ages 3yrs - 12yrs. are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door,
children under the age of 3 yrs are free. Children under the age of 3yrs must
sit on an adults lap. Cash and checks can be made payable to Miss Tanya’s School
of Dance. (NO CREDIT CARDS PLEASE). Please do not add ticket payment in with
monthly tuition. Recital tickets are NON- REFUNDABLE. All students will receive
a Free Student Pass to gain entrance into the auditorium. Please do not loose
your tickets, as replacement tickets will not be given out. Anyone entering the
auditorium must have a ticket and a stamped hand. A special handicap section
will be reserved in the front of the auditorium. The auditorium is fully air
conditioned. No Flash Photography or Videotaping Allowed! RSO Video from
Worcester Mass. has been hired to video both performances and also the medal
presentation ceremony.
Monday, May 25th 2009 - Memorial Day - We Are Closed.
Monday, June 8th 2009 - All June tuition must be Paid In Full on or before this
date to participate in the Dress Rehearsal & the Recital. Student evaluations
and class recommendations will be given to all students. Registration for Fall
classes will also begin that week. Classes fill up fast so reserve your spot. A
registration fee of $20.00 per student
Saturday June 13th 2009 Picture Day at the studio (times will be given at a
later date) and also the day of Dress Rehearsal.
Wednesday, June 17th 2009, Dress Rehearsal Fitchburg High School, from 3:35pm -
10:00pm. This is Mandatory for all students. Please arrive to rehearsal at least
30 minutes prior to your scheduled routine time, with hair and make-up done and
also in full costume. For those students that have multiple changes a dressing
area will be set up back stage. You may leave after you have performed your
routine. Photos By Jen will be present at Dress Rehearsal. This year we have
many more students that would like to have a photo taken in their recital
costumes, so we have added an extra day to accommodate the number of students.
If you would like to schedule a photo appointment, a schedule of available times
will be at the front counter on Monday May 11th 2009.
Saturday, June 20th 2009 - No Saturday Dance Classes (make-up class schedules
will be given at a later date)
Saturday, June 20th 2009 - “Viva Las Vegas” Dance Recital, Fitchburg High School
Auditorium. Two performances: 1:00pm & 5:30pm. Students are allowed to sit with
their parents in the auditorium, and we ask that they line up back stage at
least five routines prior to their dance routine. When they are finished with
their routine they may sit back in the audience and enjoy the show. At the end
of the recital, all students will be asked to come on stage and each student
will be presented with a medal, as a token of their dedication and hard work
through the year. Thank You!!

missed classes on Saturday, June 20, 2009
We will be closed for classes on
Saturday, June 20th due to the recital. Below is a schedule for make-up classes
for the one that will be missed. Please mark these dates on your calendars as no
other make-ups will be offered. The school year tuition is based on 38 weekly
class sessions and 10 equal monthly payments from September to June. This
make-up class is configured into the 38 weekly classes.
Saturday 9:30 Mom & Me - Miss Melissa’s class will stay an extra 15 minutes
(9:30 - 10:30am) on the following dates: May 30th, June 6th & June 13th.
Saturday 9:30 Hip Hop/Tap - Miss Katelyn’s class will come an extra ½ hour early
(9:00 - 10:30am ) on the following dates: May 30th & June 6th . Please pack a
drink and a small healthy snack as they will take a short break due to the 1 ½
class.
Saturday 10:30 Ballet/Jazz - Miss Melissa’s class will come for an extra class
from 1:30 - 2:30pm on Saturday, May 30th. Students will still do their regular

Make-up for Dress Rehearsal and Recital Day
We have decided to have all of our students
wear the same color make-up for the recital. Listed below are three different
brands of eye shadow make-up. You may purchase any one of these brands, but make
sure that it is the required color and you must purchase both of the colors.
Make-up is available at CVS, Walgreen’s, WalMart, Kmart & Target.

How To Apply The Eye Shadow: The white eye shadow is applied to the whole lid of
the eye, not the brow. The Taupe shadow is applied from the center of the eye
lid to the outside corner of the eye. Please blend the taupe in with the white
shadow so that it does not appear too harsh. If you have any questions regarding
the application of the eye make-up, please ask your instructor.
Lip Stick - basic Red, any brand. (NO GLOSS)
Mascara - Black, any brand
Eye Liner - Black, any brand - Line upper and lower lids (optional for the
younger student’s ages 5yrs. And under)
Blush - Pink, any brand.
Mascara & Eye Liner is optional for all Mom & Me & Pre-School Classes.
All hair and make-up should be applied and ready for Dress Rehearsal.

Note: Tights can be purchased at the studio beginning the week of May 11th
and all required shoes can be purchased at Dancers Boutique on the John Fitch
Hwy.
Reminder: No jewelry, (rings, bracelets, earrings ect.) nail polish and toe
polish can be worn at dress rehearsal or the day of the recital.
